Hillel Summer Internship Program
Find Yourself in Buffalo
The Hillel Summer Internship Program is an 8-week paid internship and cohort experience open to incoming Jewish sophomores, juniors and seniors who are either enrolled in a Buffalo area college or university or who are from Buffalo and attend school out of town during the academic year.
Students will be placed in internships that match their professional goals and that will provide them with relevant, hands-on experience and mentorship.
Interns will work 20-30 hours Monday-Thursday in their internship placements. On Fridays, interns will participate in group processing and immersive learning experiences that will further their professional growth and leadership skills. Examples of Friday programs include a networking power lunch with local Jewish professionals and a tour of a start-up incubator in Buffalo.
The Hillel Summer Internship Program aspires to:
-
Connect high potential students with work experience and a network of professional support.
-
Enhance a student’s summer through the benefits of a social and educational cohort experience.
-
Forge broader and deeper connections between college students in Buffalo and the greater Buffalo Jewish community.
-
Create opportunities for professionals in the community to share their vast knowledge and experience with students at the beginning of their career paths.
-
Expose students to the vibrancy of Western New York, the warmth of the Jewish community, and the breadth of available professional opportunities post-graduation.
-
Build a community among the interns that will be sustained throughout the academic year.

This program is made possible in part by the generosity of Grant S. Golden, MD and Deborah Goldman, UB College of Arts and Sciences, and an anonymous supporter.
